Your Next Step To A Better Run – Gait Analysis & Shoe Performance Assessment at Teamsport
Gait analysis, a crucial step in finding the perfect running shoes tailored to your unique biomechanics, is the cornerstone of your journey towards better running, optimised performance and injury prevention. It’s not just about analysing your stride; it’s about understanding YOU as a runner.
Our gait analysis is more than just running on the treadmill. Our staff will get to know you as a runner, the type of running you do or want to do; if you have any races planned or any other goals you hope to achieve. We will also ask about any running injuries you may have had. All this information will help us to get to the best pair of running trainers for you.
Understanding Gait Analysis
Gait analysis involves evaluating your walking or running pattern to eventually determine the most suitable footwear for you. Our trained staff at Teamsport delve deep into your running history, goals, and any past injuries to craft a personalised shoe recommendation. You will be given the opportunity to test these shoes on our treadmill while being assessed through our revolutionary software.
It is important to note that gait analysis and shoe performance assessment is beneficial not only to the seasoned runner but also to the beginner, the walker or anyone wanting to make sure they are buying the right shoes given their unique physical composition. You will be able to unlock insights into your walking or running biomechanics and style. You can for example discover your pronation type (neutral, overpronation, or underpronation) and uncover the level of support your feet require, or, you can see the effect of previous or current injuries and how this effects your gait. Armed with this knowledge, we will help you choose the ideal running shoe to enhance your performance and comfort by seeing which shoe gives you the greatest:
- Energy return
- Shock absorption
- Stride Repeatability (consistency of your running motion)

From analysing posture to considering running cadence, we ensure every aspect is addressed for a tailored experience.
Our shoe performance assessment is FREE with every shoe purchase. Initially, a fee of Euro 25 is applied which will be fully refunded once the shoe is purchased, be it on that same day, or once your preferred shoe is back in stock in case of your preferred model/size/colour not being currently available.
The more detailed Gait Analysis comes at a fee of Euro 75 and includes a detailed report of your gait parameters and energy expenditure which can then be passed on for analysis to your preferred expert in the field such as your physiotherapist or chiropractor for analysis purposes.
You can even opt to have a shoe performace analysis and a gait anlysis test performed in the same session. In this case the price would be that of Euro 75 for the gait analysis and Euro 25 for the shoe performance assessment (Euro 25 will be refunded in cash in case of shoe purchase).
Whether you opt for a shoe performance assessment, a gait analysis, or both, you will need to purchase the service at cashpoint at our Iklin store before the test is performed. On presentation of receipt at Teamsport, all you will be asked to do is to step up on the treadmill and walk or run. The system will immediately start to track your movements and the force you apply to the ground. On the application screen in front of you, you will see yourself running in a 3D landscape including real time body tracking and force monitoring. After as little as 20 seconds, your personal web-report is generated where you will find all you need to know about your running mechanics as well as the best shoe recommendations given your personal results.
